A year at our school
WILDarts 2026: An Unforgettable Creative Arts Adventure!
We are excited to announce that applications are now open for WILDarts – the Transitions Small Schools Creative Arts Camp 2026 at Taronga Western Plains Zoo, Dubbo! This incredible three-day camp is specially designed for Year 5 and 6 students from small schools, providing a unique and immersive opportunity to explore dance, drama, circus, visual arts, and filmmaking.
WILDarts is more than just an arts camp — it’s a chance for our primary students to build confidence, foster creativity, and develop independence while collaborating with a diverse group of peers. The camp also features the unforgettable ZooSnooz experience, where students spend a night sleeping at the zoo, surrounded by fascinating wildlife and new friends.
This is set to be an exciting and inspiring journey that supports students as they transition to high school, combining creativity, adventure, and lifelong memories. We can’t wait for our students to take part in this wild and wonderful experience!
Jnr AECG Meetings
Cargo Public School is proud to support our Junior Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG) Meetings because we believe in nurturing the leadership and cultural pride of our Indigenous students. By providing this important space, we empower young voices to be heard and foster a deeper understanding and respect for Aboriginal heritage across our whole school community. Supporting Junior AECG aligns with our commitment to inclusivity, reconciliation, and creating a welcoming environment where every student feels valued and inspired to contribute.
OSSA Rep Sport
At Cargo Public School, we believe that sport plays a vital role in every child’s development. Our sports programs encourage kids to be active, build teamwork skills, and develop confidence while having fun. Through a variety of games and activities, students learn the importance of fair play, perseverance, and healthy competition. We are proud to provide opportunities for all children to get involved, stay motivated, and enjoy the many physical and social benefits that sport brings to their school experience.
Headstart Program
Our inaugural day of the new program was a great success. The children engaged in a variety of developmental play stations and adapted smoothly to the school routines while interacting positively with the students.
"We love our school for its welcoming community that celebrates culture and encourages every student to shine through sport and teamwork. Our child feels proud, supported, and inspired every day." — A grateful parent of Cargo Public School
